Interactive Introduction to Pilates for Rehabilitation
Pilates is a whole body exercise regimen that has been proven beneficial for many of the patient populations that we treat daily including those with back injuries, stress incontinence, breast cancer and fibromyalgia. Through this workshop, you will gain a basic knowledge of the Pilates principles and ways to integrate them into patient care. The core muscles will be reviewed ,and their relationship to stability will be explored. Attendees will have ample opportunities to practice and teach their peers mat Pilates based methods using a progressive approach. Seated Pilates exercises for those unable to transfer down to the floor will be introduced. Learning will be enhanced with case studies at the end of the workshop.
